Housing
Most Toot participants will be housed in 2-bedroom student apartments (either Pecan Grove or The Oaks on the campus map). Here is a diagram of the apartment layout: each apartment has two bedrooms, each with a single bed and its own private bath. There is a shared common area and full kitchen (no dishes or kitchenware are provided). (If you are a couple who is willing to share a bathroom, please contact to ask about an alternate housing option.)
You will probably be happy if you bring a lamp for additional lighting in the bedroom. The overhead light does not provide much help for practicing, or for reading in bed.
Schreiner does not provide linens in the apartments. Texas Toot has purchased a limited number of linen sets (sheets, towels, blanket, pillow) that will be available for rent ($40 for the week), to participants who are flying in. For those driving: the beds are extra-long twin (XL twin). If you prefer not to stay in the apartments, there are numerous hotels in the surrounding area. Make a reservation early, because the Kerrville Folk Festival will be happening at the same time as the Toot.

Meals
Schreiner’s dining facility offers a variety of fresh and prepared foods, including a great salad bar, as well as accommodating vegetarian diets and other special dietary requirements. Just let us know!
The full meal plan is very reasonably priced. Guests may purchase individual meals at the dining hall. Eating together is a great way to take advantage of the fellowship, conversation, and convenience of the on-campus facilities — all valuable aspects of the workshop experience.
In addition, there are always copious snacks (free!) to be had at our midmorning coffee break.

Tuition
$495 per participant, if registered by April 15; $545 per participant after April 15.

NOTE: The Bring-a-Friend discount is given only if the person you invited actually registers for, and attends, the Toot. So this discount will not be calculated in the total costs seen on the Registration form.
Other Fees
An administrative fee of $40 is due from all students (commuter or residential), and will be figured into the total amount due for the workshop.
A deposit of at least $100 is required for your registration to be complete; deposit is refundable until May 5, 2024. Any balance may be paid at check-in by cash, check, or credit card. When registering online, you may pay through Paypal, either with a Paypal account or using your regular credit card; or you may choose to send a check made out to Texas Toot via postal mail, to:

Schreiner charges a “lost key” fee of $75. We will collect a $75 deposit (CASH OR CHECK ONLY, no credit cards) for each key issued, with the full expectation of returning it to you when the key is returned. To repeat: we will hold all deposit checks (not cashing them) and cash until the end of the Toot on Saturday, when we will return the funds to you in exchange for your key. If you have to leave early, of course we can accommodate that.
Transportation
The San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is approximately 90 minutes by car from the Schreiner University campus. Shuttle service from/to the airport can be found, but is fairly costly. Toot staff and friends may be able to provide a ride to/from the airport at a reasonable cost; please advise us well ahead of your travel.

There will be a few rooms available for those who need to arrive a day early, or to stay an extra night (around $50 per person for room only). Try to book return flights for late Saturday afternoon.
