Wendy Powers is an active teacher of recorder in New York City. She
received her Ph.D. in historical musicology from Columbia University in
1994. Wendy is assistant director
and faculty member of the Amherst Early Music Festival at Connecticut
College and is adjunct assistant professor at Queens College of the City
University of New York, where she teaches music history and has taught
early notation and directed the Collegium Musicum.
Wendy co-directs, with Valerie Horst, the CityRecorder! workshop in New York City, and has taught at workshops and ARS chapter meetings throughout the Northeast US. She is a member of the board of directors of the American Recorder Society.
